Originally, I didn’t want to weigh-in today. But I decided that I needed to resume my official weekly weigh-ins.
They keep me focused.
They keep me motivated.
They keep me goal-oriented (even if I don’t achieve my goals every week).
I don’t accomplish the goals I set all the time. But having them there, knowing that there are things I want to achieve, forces me to work and strive harder.
I didn’t meet any of my goals this week.
Not even a single one.
And that’s ok.
I tried.
But I overestimated my strengths and abilities this week while goal-setting. I thought I would be able to do a two-minute wall-sit easily, but after a week of plenty of leg work and running, my quads weren’t feeling it.
I thought I’d be able to do a two-minute plank by now. Close, but not quite.
I didn’t get my swim in. No excuses. I just didn’t do it.
And Tara, I give you permission to nag me about making your dish. It’s taken awhile (far too long).
I barely even cook for myself now. I need to get back into the kitchen. I like it there. I like creating food, but I just haven’t felt that burst of creativity.
You know when writers have writer’s block? I have cooking and photography block.
Where’s my muse?
I need to rekindle my love for cooking soon.
The thing I’m most proud of this week was realizing that being vulnerable can be a beautiful feeling. It has helped me grow as a person, and even though I always want to put up a very powerful, strong appearance, I’ve discovered that I’m actually very sensitive.
The most important thing I’ve learned from this experience:
You can only fail if you stop trying.
Never give up.
Last week’s weight: 178.2
This week’s weight: 177.0 (down 1.2)
Last week’s goals:
1. Pack 1 box to ship to DC.
2. Swim 1600 meters.
3. Do a 2-minute plank.
4. Do a 2-minute wall chair.
5. Make Tara’s Couswalnachalicious.
This week’s goals:
1. Pack 1 box to ship to DC.

Same goals. New week.

Random: How much do you love Nutella and/or peanut butter?

I’m sure that I’m going to be struck by lightening for this but….I have never had Nutella! Heard a lot about it but have never had it!
However peanut butter….well we’ve been close a long time! He and his pal chocolate are a dangerously delicious crowd to fall into.
I love cooking. I don’t like thinking about needing to cook, but I always enjoy doing it even when it’s roasting a whole chicken for Hubs and Bubs (I’m a vegetarian). I love cookbooks- all the pictures are all the inspiration I need. Haven’t really tried anything new this week other than eliminating starch. Last week I made pad Thai from scratch (for the first time). It turned out really well! I’m a Nutella hater, but an almond butter and sunflower seed butter lover.
I made mango salsa tonight! Whoohoo….it was so scrumptious…we put it over fish tacos. Yummy. I wouldn’t say I love to cook…I like to bake more.
Peanut butter is my favorite….
Great attitude you have by the way. Goal setting is so important even if we don’t meet them all.
I do enjoy cooking, but sometimes simply get worn out too. I used to make up veggie dishes when my ex girlfriend was a vegetarian…really got me to eat more veggies in the process.
I love to cook, but I have a hard time finding … well, TIME! I work too much. When I’m lacking inspiration in the kitchen, I go back through a folder I have of all the recipes I’ve clipped from magazines or printed out from the internet. It reminds me of why I love to cook, and sparks some ideas of what I want to eat that week! No new dishes this week. I LOVE almond butter, not Nutella or PB so much. My husband, on the other hand, buys Nutella at COSTCO! lol

I love cooking but don’t do it often in the summer. It just seems too hot, even though our house is pretty much the same temp all year long. I like eating cold leftovers (spaghetti, pizza, whatever), or making sandwiches, wraps or salads. But when Autumn arrives (mid to late Oct. here), it’s a soup craving that gets me in the kitchen, then I get on a roll with cooking and crockpot pretty much through April or so.
Keep posting stuff like this i really like it
Yes, I like to cook, well actually, I like to bake. Cooking gets boring with all that stirring and chopping. Sometimes I just get in a cooking mood, or, if I get really bored of the bland food I’ve been making. But I prefer to cook for other people too, not just myself. Which is why ive been very bad about eating this week, because im all alone at my house while my roommate is on a business trip. I don’t think ive tried any new food/dishes this week. Boring me I guess! I do not like nutella or peanut butter AT ALL because im allergic. !!!
