This was my recovery week. It seemed like it lasted forever. As much as I wanted to go out and run, I know it’s essential for me to rest and recover. There’s no point in rushing out, running and then injuring myself. I’m trying to be patient with my body and listen to what it needs.
I have learned so much from running. It’s become my stress reliever. I always feel rejuvenated after a run. It’s like all the negativity gets sweated out, and I’m reborn after every run. I love it.
Besides running, I’ve discovered that I enjoy swimming as well. I swam my first mile Monday night, and although difficult, it made me proud. It’s another accomplishment to add to my list. I will keep swimming, partially because it’s wonderful cross-training, but mostly because I find it relaxing to be in the water.
I also had my first Q&A with David from Running Because I Can. If you’ve got any questions for me, shoot me an email at halfofjess@gmail.com. I would LOVE to hear from you!

You are such an upbeat and positive person. I love visiting your blog for that reason. I really love that you one of your weekly goals was to hug your parents. Everyone could use a hug and I’m sure your parents appreciated that.

I totally know what you mean about running being stress relief. When I can’t I feel more on edge, it kind of stinks!
Way to go on the swimming, I used to love to swim, nothing beats sitting in scuba gear under water for an hour, so peaceful, even in a pool :p

You NEED to check out the 100 push-ups program. http://hundredpushups.com/ You’ll be doing 10 in a row and then some in no time. While I’ve never finished the program, I promise you that you’ll drastically improve your push-up performance.
This is such a good idea! I should do this. I need goals. Motivation. Something. I don’t know what happened, but I’m. In. A. Weightloss. FUNK
Great goals Jess and good that you spent the week recovering. I also know exactly what you mean about running! It’s been an amazing part of this weight loss trip so far
I have just started running, or attempting to anyway, not easy starting out when you’re incredibly unfit. I lack motivation which is my biggest problem. I’ve at least been making the effort to go for a walk if not a run, but I would like to get a bit better with running.
It does relieve stress a bit, especially when I can get out for a run and leave the kids at home
I love David, fun stuff. I’m so proud of you!! I love that you love running too, that geeks me out. Big high five!
Rock climbing is SO much fun, I hope you do it! Now the guitar, that’s something I will never be able to conquer.
It’s tough to rest huh. You’re in a good spot when you dislike not running.
