2010: 180s

by Jess on June 21st, 2010 in 2010, The 180s

I was around 182 when I ran my first Half Marathon on June 6, 2010. It was one of the best experiences of my life, and I can say that I completed 13.1 miles.

The 180s are my tripping stone but not any more.

I will be persistent. I will not give up. I will continue to be better, be stronger, be faster.

2009: 7 Months of Traveling & 180

by Jess on March 5th, 2010 in 2009, The 180s

From January to the middle of August, I decided to backpack Southeast Asia. I went to Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia (only west coast) and Singapore. It was the best experience of my life. And, because I was walking everywhere (and hitchhiking) plus living on a budget (and sleeping on beaches), I lost all the weight I’d gained in China. Back to the 180s.
Wow, what a pattern.

Because I wasn’t weight lifting while traveling, I wasn’t as toned or as in shape as I was during previous 180s.

Even in the 200s, I fit into the Cu Chi Tunnels, located near Saigon, Vietnam. It was really, really small and really, really dark.

I came home weighing 183 pounds and attended my cousin’s wedding on August 15, 2009.
