I finally broke past the 180s and reached the 170s! I haven’t been in the 170s since 2006, and I’m ecstatic. I know I will never see the 180s again. It’s because I no longer want to be thin. Instead, I want to be healthy.
The shift in mentality makes it easier to just keep doing what I’m doing. I feel great, every single day. I find balance. I don’t beat myself up. And I can enjoy eating out and taking a break from training.
I am also pretty close to losing 90 pounds total! Now that is just plain exciting.

Great work Jess! I stumbled across your blog via @bdayshoes and I wanted to say that I am very impressed. You’re absolutely right about thinking healthy and not thin. I find the biggest challenge is for people to be motivated to exercise (particularly running) by pure enjoyment as oppose to being motivated by a result.
