Day 53: I slept like a baby

by Jess on March 26th, 2010 in All Posts

And it was amazing! I think I got about 10 hours of sleep in last night, and man, I needed it. It was like a full iPhone recharge. Now, I’m all green instead of being in the “Low Battery 20%” zone. This post will be short because it’s late, but I don’t want to fall off track and skip a day of posting my logs even if I do fall asleep early.

I forgot to mention that I volunteered at Feeding America yesterday. Another one of my tournament goals complete! I’m crossing things off that bracket pretty quickly! I went to the store yesterday to look for my brownie mix, but they didn’t have it, so I have to make a run to Trader Joe’s today. By run, I mean drive. Trader Joe’s is more than a marathon away. Well, maybe not that far. It’s a half-marathon away. One day, I will actually run to Trader Joe’s. Today is not that day.

Are there any organizations that you volunteer for?

THE DAILY BITE

Tom Yam (Thai soup) – Dinner: white and brown beech mushrooms, shrimp, chicken breast, lemon grass, tamarind, shallots, shrimp paste, chili peppers, fish sauce, kaffir lime leaves. My stomach was hurting because I made it too spicy but it was so good! My mom even had a bowl.

Workout: Treadmill. Chest. Back.

I ran 3 miles yesterday, with some sprint training towards the end. Finished in around 33 minutes. I think people around me were waiting for me to pas out, because the guy next to me kept checking my treadmill display. I wanted to tell him to focus on his own running but whatever. If he likes watching me run, more power to me.

Bench pressed 65 pounds! It was awesome because I got to put two 10-pound plates at the end of the bar. I felt like a beast.

Completed Day 4 of the plank challenge. I did the first set for 45 seconds, the second set arms extended for 45 seconds, and the last set for 45 seconds. The second set was the hardest. I was shaking for the last 15 seconds.

How’s the plank challenge going for you? I know Dana is doing them arms extended too. If you haven’t been planking like that, give it a shot!

I’ve been planking with extended arms, but I’m still struggling getting to that 45 second mark on the third one! I look like a trembly leaf!

Confession time: I haven’t done the planks the last two days. I forgot Wednesday and yesterday I just didn’t feel like it. I’ve really mutineed now :-(

I’ve done them everyday (arms extended)…BUT…only for 20-30 seconds usually. Sometimes longer, but it’s rare. I’m weak, but working on it :)
